Mie Goreng - an Indonesian (mostly from Java) noodle dish that is served with sauteed greens, but sometimes comes with other veggies and a fried egg on top. This is specifically one that we would always get as take out from a restaurant called the Lokal Warung (warung is a small pseudo restaurant). It is typical that any take away food or food bought on the street from vendors, which most Balinese people do, comes wrapped in brown paper in the shape of a cone.

Sunshine Bar which I wrote about earlier is located in Padang Bai, a small port town on the east coast of Bali. This is pretty much the only bar that people go to, local and tourist alike. Everyone sits around a giant wooden table and is forced to mingle which is phenomenal because you can meet amazing people from around the world.

This is taken in the incomplete Korean Hotel on an unfinished porch that was being built on the cliffs of Padang Bai years earlier, but their funding ran out so the project never was finished. The locals and expats were all happy that it never finished due to the monstrosity it would be in such a small town even if it was somewhat removed. I agree with them, but I have to say that I would gladly pay for a hotel porch view like this.
Cock fighting is the most popular past time in Bali and roosters can be found everywhere in cages such as these and/or wandering aimlessly crowing constantly. Locals who have means will spend at least a million rupiah (approx. $100) on a good fighting rooster which is ridiculously expensive compared to the fact that we can rent a house for $17 a night, purchase a 3 course meal for $5, rent a motor bike for $2.50 a day, and get a liter of gasoline for $0.50.

Pretty much had a fresh juice every to every other day in Bali. This one is pineapple.
Our local friend Africano and our friend Victor from Amsterdam. I bet you can tell who is who. Victor ended up being not the best, but Africano remains one of the best/most happy people we know. He is absolutely hilarious and keeps everyone laughing.

The rice fields of Bali. Absolutely breathtaking. The house where we lived was close in the rice fields and I can't explain how peaceful and beautiful it is out their every single day. If you are looking for a peaceful vacation, go to the rice fields of Bali and if you have the means you can rent a ridiculous villa for some minimal price that you would normally pay to have a tiny room at a resort.
